Vali Myers by Umberto Menzinger
Two engrossing documentaries on artist and adventurer Vali Myers - legendary flame-haired dancing Bohemian of post-war Paris; free spirit of Tennessee Williams' Orpheus Descending, and creator of magical paintings.
Made by acclaimed filmmaker and close friend Ruth Cullen, these films were shot on location in Naples and a wild remote valley in Salerno.
They follow Vali on her annual sojourn at New York's Chelsea Hotel where she continues to take the city by storm, and to Melbourne, where she creates a unique and dazzling studio.
Featuring appearances by actor Peter Weller (Robocop), musicians Deborah Harry (Blondie), and Chris Stein and George Plimpton.
