Jack Flett was present for the discovery of the Poseidon Nuggets in 1906. A brief gold rush to central Victoria ensued, the largest nugget found weighing in at 953 ounces. The original discovery coincided with Melbourne Cup Day and the rush named after the winning horse of that year. |
