About the projects
Engineering WITH People: Lesson 1 – Empathy
Engineering WITH People: Lesson 1 – Empathy is the world’s first video game in Humanitarian Engineering. It is designed to teach empathy, community engagement and human-centred design, while also introducing the fundamentals of engineering in a way that even non-engineers can understand. It blends storytelling, interactive dialogues, puzzles and reflective decision-making to enhance both technical and social learning.
The New World
This is a narrative horror game with light puzzle elements and a non-linear story structure. The protagonist enters a strange world after a spaceship crash, where bizarre rules slowly create a sense of unease. The narrative style is inspired by a popular Chinese genre called "rule horror," in which the rules claim that following them will lead to salvation—but is that really true?
SHUI
This is an HD-2D style puzzle-adventure game inspired by minority ethnic cultures. You play as a lost soul who has wandered into limbo, seeking a way back to the real world by learning the language of spirits and deities. As you uncover the mysteries of this otherworldly realm, you'll gradually piece together the reason you ended up here.
Fragrant Water
Fragrant Water is an interactive story-driven game based on the Javanese folktale Asal Usul Banyuwangi, where players follow the life of Sylo and make key decisions that lead to multiple possible endings. The project aims to preserve and promote Javanese cultural heritage by reframing traditional narrative patterns through player agency while providing a design framework for adapting culturally rooted folktales into games. It also seeks to enhance engagement and replayability, reflecting the natural flexibility of stories passed down orally.
LoongMen
LoongMen is a Unity 3D puzzle game rendered in a Chinese ink painting style. It is inspired by the folktale of “Carp Leaping Over the Dragon Gate”, a story that symbolizes transformation, perseverance, and personal growth.
Gallop of freedom
Gallop of Freedom is an art video installation that consists of digitally animated points sampled from ink paintings to create an illusion of "movement". The theme of the animated video aligns with Lunar Chinese New Year 2026 which is the year of the horse.
Moonbound
Mounbound is a dark fantasy animated series that follows a reticent mercenary who is swept in the rise and fall of a utopian kingdom, fortified by unity and undone by betrayal. The story explores how human nature can both unite and destroy, reflecting contemporary anxieties surrounding war, peace, and equality while weaving a timeless narrative of triumph and loss. Visually, the animation aspires to capture a dark yet mystical painterly aesthetic, reminiscent of the Baburu-sedai era of Japanese animation.
Gaming is an art: fungees.io
Fungees is a platform that empowers gamers to create unique, artist-designed avatars that reflect their personalities and online identities. We believe gaming is more than just a pastime - it’s a gateway to self-expression, creativity, and connection. Fungees gives players creative control with co-designed, collectible PFPs that reflect their personality, fandoms, and values. Each collection is limited-edition, profit-shared with artists, and customisable - meaning no two PFPs are alike.
