Julia Ducournau's queer body horror, and winner of the Palme d'Or, taxis viewers down a dark and unpredictable path.

After surviving a brutal car crash as a child, and acquiring a titanium plate in her skull, Alexia (Agathe Rousselle) now makes a career out of gyrating on car bonnets, earning an unwelcome following in the process.

Following a series of violent crimes, Alexia goes on the run reinventing themself along the way.

With films to her name that could be descendants of the New French Extremity era, director Julia Ducournau has carved out a space for smart, transgressive horror. Titane premiered at the Cannes Film Festival, where it took out the Palme d'Or, and now her next film Alpha is competing to follow suit.
