Josie’s mundane life changes when mental illness drives him away from his daily routines and into Queensland’s forests. Shot on rotting Super-8 film and structured as a playful diptych, the film descends from dark comedy into something more disturbing, echoing the decaying mental state of its protagonist.

Winner of Best Direction – New Visions at the Sitges Film Festival and Winner of Best Feature Film at last year’s SXSW Sydney, A Grand Mockery resurrects the Super-8, community-led approach of Australia’s underground film scene.

Crew Night
