We have an exciting role within our Brand & Marketing Team to provide administrative, publicity and social media support to the communications team, working collaboratively with the Media & Communications Manager and Content & Social Media Advisor. Reporting directly to the Head of Communications, the Communications Assistant works with departments across the organisation, including Film Programs, Education, Public Programs, Curatorial and Development, in close conjunction with the Marketing Assistant. The role is designed to expand your skills in all facets of PR.

Our ideal team member will have some experience in the field of media, communications, public relations or similar. With an understanding of the Australian media landscape you will be able to build and maintain relationships internally and externally with community groups and key influencers across the arts, culture, design and entertainment media landscape. You will have excellent organisational skills with a strong attention to detail. If you are a motivated multi-tasker who is looking to build a career in PR and social media this is the role for you.
This is a Grade 2 role, offered on a full-time ongoing basis. The role has a starting salary between $52,493–$61,016 plus super along with other great benefits. This is a great opportunity to become part of a talented, committed and creative team of people with a passion for screen culture.

You will need to complete an application form, there are several mandatory fields (marked with *) that must be completed. You can edit this form through the “My Applications” page once you have logged into your account. Some of the questions are specifically related to diversity and equity and are used for reporting purposes.

ACMI generally holds panel interviews. A panel will consist of 2 – 3 people. ACMI will advise you of the panel members, their titles and any other information you may need for your interview. The decision-making and approvals process following your interview can take some time. The hiring manager or the P&C Team will contact you if you are the preferred candidate to request referee details. It is important that you contact your referees beforehand so that they can expect ACMI to make contact.
A Criminal History check is mandatory for all appointments. Additional checks may be required depending on the role. These may include Right to Work in Australia, Victorian Working with Children Check, Misconduct. You will be advised of any additional checks.
If your application is not successful, the Hiring Manager or a member of the panel will contact you to advise you of the outcome and provide feedback.
Once the Hiring Manager receives final approval to make an offer, they will contact you with a verbal offer. The P&C Team will then issue a contract through the jobs portal for you to review and accept along with your onboarding paperwork.
