When The Earth Seems To Be Light (2015)
“The film is a rush of colour and movement. Splaying through the city and its outskirts, the sound editing is ripe with texture over a brooding ambient score.”
A group of misfit skaters search for their place in Georgian society by roaming the streets on their boards, tired of being judged and misunderstood.
Surrounded by the religious and Soviet relics of their parents’ past, this new generation is more than happy to disregard it and create their own meaningful reality.
The impressionistic portraits of these skaters are based on a series of photos by co-director David Meskhi, and is intercut with news footage of demonstrations in Georgia.
