Visual effects and illusions


In this full-day workshop, students explore the history of visual and special effects and key principles such as layering and masking. Students will develop the skills to deliver a range of visual effect shots to form a weird and wonderful science-fiction story.

Students will:

- consider the history of the evolution of visual and special effects

- learn about layering and masking, and how these principles still apply to contemporary visual effects

- understand and apply a range of visual effects

- plan, execute and edit their effects into a science-fiction narrative
