Dr Christian Thompson is the inaugural recipient of the Mordant Family VR Commission and one of Australia’s leading visual artists.
His work explores notions of identity, cultural hybridity and history. Formally trained as a sculptor, Thompson’s multidisciplinary practice engages mediums such as photography, video, sculpture, performance & sound. Bayi Gardiya (Singing Desert) is the artist's debut virtual reality work.
This talk is an opportunity to hear from a unique creator about a work exploring a childhood landscape and an extinct language.
