The Films of Lucrecia Martel

“Although Martel has made only four features, each is extraordinary in its cinematic mastery—she’s one of the greatest directors in the world right now”

This September, we celebrate Lucrecia Martel, one of the most vital contemporary filmmakers to emerge from the New Argentine Cinema movement.

Her latest film, Zama, is an intoxicating fever dream of an upwardly immobile Spanish official in colonial Paraguay, which we're screening exclusively.

Alongside this season are encore screenings of Martel’s critically acclaimed Salta trilogy all set in her hometown – her debut feature La Ciénaga (2001), adolescent drama The Holy Girl (2004) and psychological thriller The Headless Woman (2008).
