“A jaunty, amusing patchwork...director Bharat Nalluri...juggles the picture's many moving parts and cavalcade of performances with skill, ingenuity and a clear affection for his iconic subject”

Los Angeles Times

In desperate straits after a string of critical failures as he frantically fends off creditors – and merciless taunts from Thackeray! – a young Charles Dickens (Dan Stevens of Downton Abbey fame) must summon the muse to deliver a new work in record speed. Drawing inspiration from the real-life characters in his midst, Dickens would go on to write (and independently publish) a redemptive yuletide tale that became a literary sensation.

Adapted from the book How Charles Dickens' A Christmas Carol Rescued His Career and Revived Our Holiday Spirits by author and historian Les Standiford, Bharat Nalluri's high-spirited film features Christopher Plummer as an Ebenezer Scrooge for the ages and co-stars Miriam Margolyes and Simon Callow.
