“Charming and uplifting, a genuinely endearing, crowd-pleasing comedy. ”

The Herald Sun

A feel-good romantic comedy about a complicated trip to the altar sees Antonio (Cristiano Caccamo) travel to his hilltop Italian hometown – the picturesque Etruscan-era town of Civita di Bagnoregio in Lazio – to marry his fiancé, Paolo (Salvatore Esposito). Based on the hit off-Broadway play, Genovesi’s big screen adaptation explores the obstacles that come with breaking down long-held traditions with a light touch and an open heart.

Antonio’s mother quickly comes around to the idea of the unexpected nuptials (with a few caveats!) but his father, Roberto, the local Mayor, (Diego Abatantuono), remains intractable. With Paolo’s estranged mother, some supportive if eccentric close friends and (real life) celebrity wedding planner Enzo Miccio in the mix, Paolo and Antonio's trip down the aisle turns social convention on its head with good-spirited humour – and fashion flair!
