After the success of the inaugural Beyond Top Screen in 2017, the program returns this year with a focus on the pathways you can take after completing VCE Media. Hear the advice of former Top Screen filmmakers and industry professionals on how to forge a pathway into the media industry.

The Beyond Top Screen panel discussion will take place in the cinema immediately after the screening.

2018 Panellists

Natalie Tencic 
Top Screen 2011, Methodist Ladies’ College, Kew 

Natalie Tencic is a journalist and news producer who has worked multiple roles in the media industry, including for organisations such as SYN Media, the Australian Financial Review, Warner Music Australia, and the Australian Broadcasting Corporation, where she currently works as a Radio Presenter on Triple J.

Sam Mularczyk 
Top Screen 2013, Brighton Secondary College, Brighton

Sam Mularczyk is a motion, web and graphic designer, currently working as a motion designer at The Project on Network Ten.  Sam previously worked as an interaction designer at Thick, designing mobile apps, websites and video content. Sam’s work has been featured in places like the New York Times, Beautiful Pixels and the iTunes and Windows App Stores. He has received the FWA Mobile of The Day award and has twice been shortlisted for the Adobe Design Awards.

Jesse Leaman 
Top Screen 2013, Bellarine Secondary College, Drysdale

Jesse Leaman is an Australian writer/director with a focus on both film and theatre. His recent work 'Lorne' starring Guy Pearce has been screened worldwide at festivals such as Palm Springs International ShortFest and FlickerFest International Short Film Festival. Jesse and writer Taylor Adams are in early stages of developing their first feature film.

Top Screen 2018 is classified as M and not recommended for persons under the age of 15. The films contain mature themes and coarse language.
