The first Internet Cat Video Festival took place at the Walker Center in Minneapolis, Minnesota on August 30, 2012 drawing audiences of more than 10,000 people (and a few felines), the festival was a communal experience for fans of the online phenomenon of cat videos.
What began as a social experiment testing the boundaries of online communities and crowd sourcing public content has become an International success. As part of White Night we bring you the 2015 Walker Art Centre Internet Cat Video Festival.
This festival runs for 20 minutes and screens every half hour from 7pm-7am. It only features a selection of the full Walker Center program.
The Internet Cat Video Festival is produced and curated by the Walker Art Center and presented at ACMI
Internet Cat Video Festival
While normally viewed solo on a computer screen, our unofficial cat-lady-in-residence invites you to come together and share the LOLs as our favourite silly cat videos are presented in all their glory on the big screen. Experience the joy of a surprised kitten or keyboard cat together as we enjoy one of the internet’s most popular phenomena.
