Margaret and David: 25 Years Talking Movies
This ACMI-curated exhibition will feature iconic reviews, interviews and discussions from Margaret and David's 25 years on Australian television and highlight the duo's ongoing advocacy of the Australian film industry, support for art-house and foreign film, anti-censorship campaigns, and their substantial contribution to the field of film criticism.
Come walk the red carpet! It's time to celebrate the 25th anniversary of Margaret and David.
Margaret Pomeranz and David Stratton's television partnership commenced in 1986 when they founded The Movie Show on SBS. They moved to the ABC in July 2004 to host At the Movies, where they continue to broadcast. Their passion for film, witty banter and mutual respect for one another has created a unique on-screen relationship that has generated a loyal following Australia-wide.
ACMI commemorates Margaret and David's 25th year on television with special exhibition exploring the careers of these two remarkable people. Presented alongside unforgettable reviews and never-before-seen interviews are a selection of Margaret's famous earrings, David's ASIO file and candid photographs of big silver-screen stars. Visitors can also play critic, reviewing films in a custom-built television studio.
