Unable to pay her rent, Nana, a girl from the provinces, is gradually initiated into prostitution in Paris. Using interview techniques, direct sound, long takes, texts, quotation and statistics, Godard gives this probing and dazzling examination of prostitution (in 12 chapters) a documentary tone.
