A elderly woman of Russian origin is informed that she is stricken with cancer (‘rak’ in Russian). She is determined to fight the disease and live. She must also fight the inertia and indifference of the medical staff and of the administrative system supposed to look after her. In the light of her experiences, her son David decides to care for her at home and do everything possible to make her last days the happiest.
