When

Tue 30 Sep 2025

Join us in the cinema for a look at the importance of Indigenous Protected Areas throughout Australia.

From the heart of the desert to the islands and estuaries of Sea Country, Indigenous Protected Areas span over 110 million hectares of land and sea and now cover around 54% of Australia’s reserves on land. On the frontline are teams of Indigenous Rangers who are fighting some of the world’s biggest environmental challenges.

Working in some of the most remote corners of Australia, rangers are safeguarding endangered species, fighting wildfires and invasive species, and practising culture in the face of a changing climate.

Join us in the cinema for a very special preview screening of Country Needs People's new documentary Keeping Country Strong followed by a Q&A with Traditional Owners on stage.

Keeping Country Strong will be broadcast on NITV on October 13th and will then be available on SBS On Demand.
