James Benning turns to the wilderness for the final part of his California Trilogy.
Each film of the “California Trilogy” – El Valley Centro (1999), Los (2000), and Sogobi (2001) – contains 35 shots, each exactly two and a half minutes long, to "map the state, visualising its beauty while examining the politics of water and of ethnicity" (Artforum).
