Join us in the cinema for a special screening of the Studio Ghibli classic with a focus on the film's beautiful and emotive musical score.

In a distant future, a young princess named Nausicaä lives in a peaceful valley surrounded by a toxic jungle that’s home to giant mutant insects. When conflict threatens to destroy the fragile balance between humanity and nature, she must fight to protect her people and uncover the secrets of the dying world.

Nausicaä lets her empathy and wisdom guide her to find a path towards coexistence, channelling her emotions into courage and compassionate action.

Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind marks the first collaboration between director Hayao Miyazaki and celebrated composer Joe Hisaishi. His score for the film uses a blend of synthesizers and acoustic instruments, creating a unique soundscape that sets it apart from Studio Ghibli’s later, more orchestrally driven work.

Our special Kids' Flicks with Feelings sessions include a curator introduction where we introduce the concept of emotional intelligence. Each session will begin by listening to a piece of music from the film's emotive score.
