Kavil is a curator and artist living in Naarm/Melbourne. In 2020, he founded the Absorb record label and platform which encompasses a monthly residency on LYL Radio and an annual arts festival called ABSORBED. He is also a curator at Make It Up Club, an institution that has presented weekly avant-garde and improvised sound concerts in Naarm since 1998. In performance, Kavil works under the names ! and Excited State, exploring the potential of recorded music and possibilities for its improvisation, invocation and (sometimes) collapse.
