
Tom Ellard is best known as the mainstay of electronic band Severed Heads, first as part of the ‘Australian inner city’ independent label movement of the late 1970s before moving into the ‘industrial dance’ realm with commercial successes and world tours throughout the 1980s.
For The Listening Room he’s presenting half-CD half-vinyl, and acetates from radio that are made to wear out, locked grooves that make them unplayable—the symptoms of decadence in recorded music.
