Text, treasure & adventure game design
Workshop + exhibition visit
When
10am - 2pm
Mon - Thu during school terms
Draw your map, hide the treasure, and develop an interactive text-based adventure game.
Taking inspiration from fantasy inspired text-based adventures from the early days of gaming, students create and code their own explorable text-based game world in which the player must find a special item to unlock a treasure or some coveted, magical item.
Their worlds will include hand-drawn maps, an inventory, dead-ends, and possibly some danger…
Students will:
- Develop maps for an explorable text-based game world
- Design a player experience
- Turn their plans into interactive stories using Twine
