Pixar’s Pete Docter cuts his teeth in this Academy Award-winning debut about a monster friendship.
We scare, because we care
In a world powered by the screams of children, monsters are deployed to generate enough energy to keep their utopia functioning and no team is better at that than Sully (John Goodman) and Mike (Billy Crystal). Yet when an adorable toddler named Boo stumbles into their lives, the BFFs are forced to deal with the consequences to not just their personal relationship but the world around them. The directorial debut of Peter Docter, (who would go on to make some of Pixar’s most interesting and existential films like Up, Inside Out and Soul) Monsters, Inc. is a fan favourite for a reason.
