Flux Gourmet

Peter Strickland | UK, Hungary, USA | | MA15+
Film

The dark, idiosyncratic humour of Peter Strickland fills every nook and cranny of a 'sonic-catering' institute in his follow-up to 2018's In Fabric.

The road to creative fulfilment has never been a smooth one.

When an art collective devoted to capturing the sound of food in their noise performances begin a month-long residency at an isolated ‘sonic-catering’ institute, they are immediately challenged by forces inside and out. The Mangrove Snacks, a rival culinary collective rejected from the institute, begin to take out vengeful attacks, the institute's Director starts to insist on creative input, and tensions within the collective begin with a simmer but soon come to a rolling boil.
