With a career in TV Westerns already under his belt, Clint Eastwood made his leading role debut in Sergio Leone's classic Spaghetti western. As an archetypical lone gunfighter squinting his way into town, Eastwood’s "the man with no name" is an instrument of chaos, pitting two rival families against one another to serve his own selfish ends.
Filmed in Spain, and drawing on influences including Akira Kurosawa's Yojimbo, Leone's classic film – often considered one of the best of all time – is credited with reframing the American western genre.
Integrating classic orchestral sounds with electronic elements, Chiara Kickdrum's new score pays tribute to Ennio Morricone’s own legendary score for the film by weaving its way through and intertwining with it. Chiara will be accompanied on stage by cellist Naomi Wileman.
Chiara is a music composer and producer born and raised in Torino, Italy and now based in Australia. Chiara’s work ranges across composing and producing music and sound design for film and TV commercials, creating electronic music for live performance, composing soundscapes for immersive environments and art installations, and the experimental use of field recordings with analogue and digital synthesis.
