Chiara Kickdrum returns to ACMI and Melbourne Music Week with an exciting new live score to one of the most celebrated Spaghetti Westerns of all time.

With a career in TV Westerns already under his belt, Clint Eastwood made his leading role debut in Sergio Leone's classic Spaghetti western. As an archetypical lone gunfighter squinting his way into town, Eastwood’s "the man with no name" is an instrument of chaos, pitting two rival families against one another to serve his own selfish ends.

Filmed in Spain, and drawing on influences including Akira Kurosawa's Yojimbo, Leone's classic film – often considered one of the best of all time – is credited with reframing the American western genre.

Integrating classic orchestral sounds with electronic elements, Chiara Kickdrum's new score pays tribute to Ennio Morricone’s own legendary score for the film by weaving its way through and intertwining with it. Chiara will be accompanied on stage by cellist Naomi Wileman.
