Flex your emotional muscles this summer with a series of fun films for imaginative minds.

We’re all intelligent in different ways. Some people are good at maths, some people are good at English, and some people are emotionally intelligent. Whether emotional intelligence is a strength of ours or not, the good news is that we can hone our skills through practice – and watching fantasy films is a great way to do that.

At times, when we’re not sure what other people around us are feeling, it helps to imagine how we would feel in their situation. Fantasy films allow us to do just that: they invite us to relate to unreal characters in unreal worlds and experience what they’re experiencing on screen. Sometimes we can do this without even trying, but if we slow down, we can identify some clear cues to let us know what the characters on screen are feeling.

Join us in the cinema for Kids’ Flicks with Feelings this school holidays, where we’ll begin each screening with a curator-led talk introducing the key concepts and importance of emotional intelligence. And after each screening, we’ll have activity kits available for imaginative minds to build on key learnings at home.
