Journey into the inner world of a virtuoso and her quest for creative fulfilment in this documentary that exquisitely blends animation and live action.

In a unique collaboration, filmmaker Sophie Raymond, producer Clare Sawyer and musician Genevieve Lacey combine animation, dramatic reconstruction, documentary footage and live performance to journey into the inner world of a virtuoso and her quest for creative fulfilment. An exquisite blend of animation and live action, Recorder Queen quickly finds the true soul of its subject and never lets it go. This is a documentary that uses animation to draw us into a world in which the intangible powers of creativity and the simple joy of music speak as loudly and powerfully as the real world journey the film takes us on.

This screening will be followed by a Q&A with the filmmakers and the subject of the documentary who will discuss what it took to bring this multi-facetted vision to the screen.
