Join us for a screening of this poignant and darkly comic road movie, followed by a Q&A with writer-director Henry Boffin.

Nate Taylor (Riley Nottingham) hasn’t spoken to his brother, Ged (Johnny Carr), in over four years. But when their mother passes away from a sudden aneurysm, the brothers must set aside their differences to fulfil their mother’s dying wish: to have her ashes scattered at the old family home in the country town of Narrabri.

Setting out across Australia in the only vehicle available to them – a black hearse – the boys soon realise that the trip will be anything but plain sailing.

Strange Creatures is the feature debut of director Henry Boffin, co-creator of comedy TV series Metro Sexual. The film has been selected for numerous festivals across Australia and internationally, including Cannes Marché du Film, Hong Kong Lesbian and Gay Film Festival, Queer Screen, CinefestOZ and Melbourne Queer Film Festival.

The screening will be followed by a Q&A with director Henry Boffin.

Henry Boffin's debut feature lingers in that truth, presenting a quirky Little-Miss-Sunshine-esque road trip that veers into a more dramatic, honest and, frankly, more exciting direction.
