Australian Premiere

The voice of Hugo Weaving guides us through Australia’s past, brought to life in SBS’s much-loved factual series which casts a celebratory, but also critical eye over our history, here in colour for the first time.

Mining Australia’s film archives, this season premiere episode directs the lens to Australian families and how they’ve evolved throughout the 20th Century, with footage spanning World War II, the polio outbreak and the Women’s Liberation Movement. What emerges is the story of a country beginning to comprehend its past, and an untold history, that is both revelatory and visually splendid on-screen.

Australia in Colour Season 2 premieres on SBS on Wednesday 10 Mar at 8.30pm. See it first in our cinemas for free.
