‘Saturn’s return’ is part of an SBS commissioned series called ‘Hybrid Life’, which explores the experience of second and third generation migrants. Barney and his lover Dimi set out on a road trip to visit Barney’s father who is dying of AIDS and has decided to end his life. Based on a short story by Christos Tsiolkas and directed by Wenona Byrne, the film uses the road movie journey as a means to travel through Australia’s chequered history, while the two lovers confront their families turbulent past.
