Green Fingers was a series of short instructional films on home gardening tips, produced by the Victorian Department of Agriculture. In this episode, ‘Weed Control’, gardener Rod Cantrill demonstrates how to control weeds in the home garden. Cantrill shows a range of methods for managing weeds, including hoeing, mulching and herbicides, accompanied by a narrator who explains the benefits and correct techniques of each method. The episodes of Green Fingers are an early example of popular gardening shows in the tradition of Sow What, Better Homes and Gardens, and Gardening Australia.
