In the aftermath of the fires that swept through Canberra in 2003, three teenagers contemplate their loss amongst the ashes and ruins of their suburbs. Exploring the impact of the devastation through their music, lives and loves, Firestorm is an intimate meditation on the fears, hopes and dreams of Australia’s largely unheard youth. Stylised images of the city combine with languid observations of the subjects to uncover the beauty that lies in the wake of the firestorm.
