The building of ADMA enterprise, a special oil drilling platform developed for underwater oil exploration. Exploring for oil on the bed of the Persian Gulf involved the development of this floating platform in a shipyard on Kiel Canal, and the transformation of Das Island, an uninhabited outcrop of rock in the Persian Gulf, into an outpost of industrial civilisation, complete with harbour, airstrip, living quarters and workshops.
