Women of the night’ details how two sisters are driven to prostitution by poverty. The narrative blocks out this nether world life with a well developed story which gives a moving portrayal of their lives, fraught with attempts at escape. In the film’s climax the two women are accused of being traitors to their class by the judge and jury who are fellow whores. A feminist tract, ‘Women of the night’ is a moving drama plotting the destroyed lives of two women.
