Wild Stallion Mountain – The Bombay Royale

Australia, 2015

Film
A woman of indian descent wearing a costume like that of the french aristocracy, frilly clothes and a platinum wig, looking down mid song with a undulating background of green and blue that hints at a landscape

Wearing their influences firmly on their sleeve, Melbourne band The Bombay Royale make “vintage Bollywood-inspired surf, spy, disco and funk” and their video for ‘Wild Stallion Mountain’ (2015) clearly reflects that. With both their sound and style linked very closely to movies, the music clip plays like a visual mash-up of their various inspirations including Bollywood, 60s psychedelia, the kitsch, exploitation cinema and classic Hollywood Westerns.
