‘Cyberthon II: The Virtual Transmission’ was the second in the series of Cyberthon broadcast events. Set up from TVU’s (Television Unlimited) warehouse and studio in Footscray Victoria, it was once again broadcast live via RMITV’s frequency UHF-31. Unlike the previous Cyberthon and Cyberdelia broadcast events however, Cyberthon II: The Virtual Transmission had expanded in scope afforded by its new venue and increasing popularity of the techno scene.
Adding to the DJ, VJ sets, live performances of electronic music and art, a range of artists also performed live. Artists such as Stelarc performed his Third Arm and Craig Horsham displayed his subversive VHS crash editing of mainstream TV commercials. The Amiga Users Group exhibited a collection of Amiga demos while a diverse range of artists displayed accompanying complex visual effects and art installations.
