Coverage of the 1909 Australian Rules Football Grand Final played at the MCG between Carlton and South Melbourne. South Melbourne defeated Carlton 4.14 (38) to 4.12 (36), in front of a crowd of 37,759 people to win their first ever premiership. This is the earliest known surviving footage of a Victorian Football League (VFL) match.
