Walt Disney Animation Studio’s Academy Award-winning Zootopia (2016) follows a rookie cop who sets out to uncover a dangerous conspiracy that’s turning the peaceful animals of Zootopia back into their savage states. A small-town bunny rabbit, Judy Hopps (Ginnifer Goodwin) has to work with the sly fox Nick Wilde (Jason Bateman), a hustler who can guide her through the city’s underworld to get to the bottom of the case.
This concept sketch by Cory Loftis represents the bustling metropolis teeming with instantly classic animal characters, including Judy and Nick, but also Chief Bogo (Idris Elba), Benjamin Clawhauser (Nate Torrence), Dawn Bellwether (Jenny Slate) and Yax (Tommy Chong).
Winner of the Academy Award for Best Animated Feature, as well as the Golden Globe, Critic’s Choice Movie Award and the Annie Award, Zootopia was critically acclaimed for its memorable characters, animation and story about seeing past our prejudices.
