As a gesture of support and in sympathy for those affected by Black Saturday the Melbourne community came together at Federation Square on Friday 27 February 2009 to show that the city cares. Visitors left an outline drawing of their hands on paper and wrote words of encouragement and pledges of support as part of the “Healing Hands” initiative.
