This video features in a responsive display in the museum that presents the moments, stories and memes capturing the zeitgeist by going viral on the internet.

Prime Minister Scott Morrison got the cold shoulder at the G20 conference in Rome. Not only did the French president label him a liar over the submarine fiasco, his 11th-hour plan for net-zero emissions by 2050 was criticised around the world (and at home) for lacking any new funding, policies or details – except faith that yet-to-be-invented tech might save the day. Other world leaders made their displeasure known by collectively shunning the maskless Morrison during a group photo opportunity.

While the original footage in this video was broadcast on 7 News, Labor MP Patrick Gorman (and likely his social media team) added the theme music to TV show Curb Your Enthusiasm, equating the Australian Prime Minister with the fictional version of Larry David, whose ignorance and disregard for social conventions results in awkward, cringe-worthy moments on the show. The addition of end cards further establishes the sitcom style, featuring the names of other coalition members, suggesting that the government’s climate policy is a joke that’s resulted in this bumbling Larry David-like instance of international embarrassment.

The moment French President Emmanuel Macron responded to a reporter's question about whether he thought Scott Morrison lied to him. Video via @BevanShields' Twitter account.
