Decisive Battles of WWII: Ardennes Offensive is the first game in the Decisive Battles of WWII series. It is a turn-based strategy wargame set in the Battle of the Bulge. The player can play as either the Germans or Americans, with the British as an AI-controlled third faction. Gameplay is primarily set on a hexagonal grid map with regiments being represented by icons. In each turn, which represents a half day, the player can move units or attack enemy units. A unit’s effectiveness can be augmented by several factors like artillery or airstrikes. The game comes with eight scenarios with a varying number of turns in which to complete them. These scenarios can be played against the computer or against friends in hot seat, LAN, online or play-by-email modes.
