Instagram has been trialing some new features for video content - and they have not been well received. Following criticism from some high profile celebrities, ranging from Kylie Jenner to Roxane Gay, Head of Instagram Adam Mosseri posted a defense of the platform’s perceived pivot to video, euphemistically acknowledging the changes as “not yet good”. Mosseri seems worried, and he’s right to be: Jenner, who has 361 million Instagram followers, is not averse to exerting her influence. In 2018 her criticism of a Snapchat update caused the company to lose US$1.3billion in market value, and they quickly withdrew several changes.
