Michelle Yeoh described her win for Best Actress as a beacon of hope for Asian audiences everywhere. In an Oscar’s first, Yeoh became the first Asian woman to win the award in its history, only the second woman of color to take home that award ever. Halle Berry, the first WOC to win in the same category over 20 years ago, presented the award.
