I See Seaweed - The Drones

Dripping with lyrical venom, the music video for The Drones’ I See Seaweed conjures dark skies, cracked stone and blooming black holes. Although singer/songwriter Gareth Liddiard reflects on a past relationship, Amiel Courtin-Wilson’s accompanying visuals expand like a deluge drowning the entire world. At the song’s crescendo, a tide of fish falls as the guitars rise into a grind, echoing the urgency of a loss greater than love – the collapse of the biosphere. As provocative as they are intense, The Drones’ ferocity leaves the impression that we’re all a part of a doomed cycle.
