Letters to Arralla takes players to a whimsical island with pink skies, rolling hills and fruit n’ veggie villagers. As a mail delivery-turnip, players can explore the island, help neighbours and snoop into their business by reading their mail.
Letters to Arralla presents a cheeky dreamworld inspired by wistful memories of childhood imagination. Its charming playscape and soft plush characters cherish an idyllic form of traditional ‘adorable’ femininity. ‘Cosy’ and ‘wholesome’ indie games have flourished in recent years. They offer a refreshing take on videogame conventions and appeal to players who don’t want violence and competition and instead value gentle interactions and positive game worlds. This game reproduces the soft, warm textures reminiscent of the comfort of a beloved stuffed toy.
Letters to Arralla is currently under development and is supported by VicScreen.
