My Dream PC celebrates the women who build personal computers (PC) and prove that femininity and technical competency are complementary.
Inspired by feminine internet trends like ‘cottagecore’, players can use flowers, furniture and magic to design their own PC. Through the visual language of dollhouses and everyday objects, My Dream PC challenges the masculine, utilitarian image of the computer.
Computers are often linked to function and rationality; design principles that contrast with feminine stereotypes like decoration and sentimentality, and Apple’s virtual assistant Siri. By embracing hyper-femininity, My Dream PC celebrates the craft, tech-competency and creativity of women PC builders around the world.
