The Blackmagic PYXIS 12K is a compact box camera designed for flexibility. Made from precision CNC-machined aerospace aluminium, it is lightweight, strong and highly riggable. It can be mounted to drones, built into larger camera rigs, or adapted for documentary, commercial, feature film and personal projects.
Released in 2025, the PYXIS 12K brings high-resolution digital cinematography into a smaller, more customisable form. Its 12K sensor captures extremely detailed images, giving filmmakers more freedom to crop, stabilise or reframe footage. Its modular design allows filmmakers to shape the camera around each shoot, rather than working around a fixed camera body.
Its appeal lies in that combination: Hollywood-level resolution in a camera built for independent, professional and experimental workflows.
