Doctor Dillamond is central to Wicked’s emotional arc. As Elphaba’s history professor, he helps awaken her sense of justice, so his digital presence needed to feel real and expressive.
Framestore built the CG character through close, practical research. Artists visited a goat sanctuary, using a goat named Summer as the blueprint for Dillamond’s body, movement and behaviour. They studied breathing, chewing, ear flicks and facial motion, while also drawing on Peter Dinklage’s voice performance.
The result balances animal and actor: a believable goat with enough human feeling to carry one of the film’s key emotional relationships.
